INHERITANCE
Inheritance laws are statutes and regulations that determine how individuals receive assets from the estate of a deceased family member in the event that there is a will or not. These laws ensure that beneficiaries can inheritance in the event that a will was never made or doesn’t cover all of the deceased person’s assets. In some cases, these laws also provide certain relatives the right to claim the inheritance, which they can exercise regardless of the actual terms of the deceased’s will.
In Honduras there are two ways to claim an inheritance:
1. Court Process: Its advantage is the low price but its disadvantage is the time the process takes to finish.
2. Public Notary Process: Its advantage is its expedite process but its disadvantage is the high cost for its process.
